About the artist and the print:

I Love Color – My favorite color is rainbow. I have always loved the ways colors collaborate and complicate each other as they reshape the world in small radiant ways.

I Love Being Outside – For the better part of a decade I was kept indoors – by earning two degrees (from BYU and the University of Utah), by the pollution while living in Bejing, and then by Covid-19. After all that, I found myself needing to paint on-site in the great outdoors!

I Love Ordinary Moments – I unveil the quiet electricity of ordinary moments using bold and surprising color that brings new life to familiar scenes. My work has received awards from plein air competitions and museum shows. It has been featured on an episode of BYUtv's ArtFul, and it has been purchased and commissioned by the State of Utah collection and Utah State University. We can live extraordinary lives in ordinary moments.

Your Way's Better – This print is about finding light and beauty in God's path. After a series of unexpected events, I entered a faith crisis that stretched across years – a long season of sorting, sifting, and seeking. Recently, I stumbled upon the song "Your Way's Better" by Forrest Frank, and its mix of an easy beat for the girl who grew up dancing and lyrics that echo the tug-of-war of faith felt unexpectedly fitting for the journey I and many of my generation choosing faith have been on.

The landscape reflects that tension and hope. It holds the weight of the earth and the pull of gravity, yet also gathers the sun – letting it shimmer through stone, grass, bushes, and flowers. It's a reminder that even heavy ground can glow, and that light finds its way through when we are willing to follow it. — Abigale Palmer
