Chris Bacon

Chris Bacon, no relation to Kevin Bacon (although with a resume as extensive as his is becoming, I’m sure he’s only a few degrees of separation from him many times over) is a film and tv composer.

His newest project is the upcoming Netflix series, Wednesday, a spin-off helmed by Tim Burton surrounding Wednesday Addams, the precociously sinister daughter from the famed Addams Family franchise. Chris contributed music under the show’s lead composer Danny Elfman; a regular collaborator of Burton’s and one that Chris has worked with before.

After graduating from BYU, Bacon attended the film scoring program at USC. This led to a mentorship under award-winning film composer, James Newton Howard. Despite being in the company of music giants and a few super heroes (Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), he has still carved out space on his own. Bacon has been nominated for two Emmys for his work on Bates Motel for A&E and the NBC musical hit, Smash.

In addition to his more dramatic projects, the husband and father of four also has a lighter side including Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure and Gnomeo and Juliet. Oh, and Chris has three degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon by way of the animated film Alpha and Omega which starred Danny Glover who worked on Lonesome Dove with Diane Lane who starred in My Dog Skip opposite Kevin Bacon. Just in case you were wondering.—Joël René Scoville (Wednesday drops on Wednesday, November 23 on Netflix.)
