10 Works You Should Know: Brontë Hebdon

As an art and fashion historian, Brontë Hebdon has built her career at the intersection of materiality, belief, and women’s creative labor. Her research has been supported by the Veronika Gervers Research Fellowship in Textile and Fashion History at the Royal Ontario Museum and NYU’s Dean’s Dissertation Fellowship, and her curatorial work for the Center has illuminated the visual culture and belief systems of the Latter-day Saint tradition with the poise of someone who understands both scholarship and story.

To make her list, the scholar gathered artworks that spoke to her interests and expertise: historically significant works, textile pieces, and female contemporary artists. Her chosen ten works offer a tactile, thoughtful lens on legacy—what we inherit, what we preserve, and what continues to unfold in the hands of artists today.
